If you’re a destination bride tying the knot in Italy, why not bring a little la dolce vita to your pre-wedding celebrations too?
Here are five ideas for your hen party, bridal shower or bachelorette that nod to your Italian wedding.
Pearls & Prosecco
Elegant, feminine, and perfectly on-brand for a destination bride. It’s timeless Audrey Hepburn meets Italian vineyard glamour.
Decor:
Soft neutrals and ivory tones with touches of pearl: String pearls draped over champagne coupes, delicate lace tablecloths, and creamy florals. Add crystal glassware and white taper candles for a romantic touch.
Activities:
Host a prosecco tasting or create your own Bellini bar with peach purée and sparkling Italian wines. You could even gift each guest a mini pearl bracelet or a pearl drinks charm as a keepsake.
Last Spritz as a Miss
This one’s for the Aperol girls. Vibrant, sun-drenched, and full of personality… aka the perfect nod to Italian summer.
Decor:
Think burnt orange, coral, pink and gold. Fill the table with bowls of fresh oranges, blood oranges, rattan accents, and glass carafes of bright Aperol spritz. Neon signage or disco balls add a fun, modern touch.
Activities:
Set up a “Spritz Station” with Aperol, soda, prosecco, and garnishes. Guests can mix their own signature spritz. Pair with Italian cicchetti-style bites (like mini bruschetta, olives, and arancini).
She’s Found Her Main Squeeze
Nothing says Italian coast like Amalfi lemons. This theme is perfect for Italian weddings by the sea, or brides who love a bold, sunny palette.
Decor:
Yellow, white and blue everything! Think lemons as decor, patterned blue-and-white ceramics, and linen tablecloths for a coastal vibe. You could even incorporate lemon-scented candles or place settings printed with lemon motifs.
Activities:
Host a limoncello tasting, and pair the drinks with a fresh Italian dessert bar – lemon tarts, panna cotta, sorbet and gelato.
That’s Amore
When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie… it’s the ultimate Italian bridal bash! This one is ideal if your vibe is fun and relaxed, and it works really well for a mixed-age bridal party.
Decor:
Red-and-white checkered linens, rustic pizza boards, and plenty of candlelight. Add pops of red with napkins, flowers and even fresh tomatoes, fill glass vases with pasta, and string fairy lights or festoon bulbs overhead for that warm trattoria glow.
Activities:
Host a make-your-own pizza night or hire a pizza van to cater. Play classic Italian love songs and finish the evening with tiramisu and espresso martinis.
Ciao, Bella!
Playful, bold, and unapologetically Italian: this theme celebrates all things Italy as you say farewell to being a ‘miss.’
Decor:
Inspired by the Italian flag, focus on rich greens, crisp whites, and pops of red. Think green foliage, white roses, and cherry or tomato-inspired details. For table settings, alternate coloured glassware or linen napkins in the three shades.
Activities:
A pasta-making class or wine-pairing night with meats and cheese would fit beautifully. You could gift guests monogrammed aprons or embroidered napkins for a personalised touch.
